RuleStream’s Standards Based Engineering (SBE) solution acts as a knowledge foundation supporting a number of engineering applications such as Engineer-to-Order (ETO), digital manufacturing and simulation. RuleStream’s solution establishes a closed loop learning system that helps enable continuous improvement to promote lean processes and facilitate extensive design reuse.

RuleStream establishes a repository that stores and retains the knowledge of senior engineers and coalesces information across systems and disciplines in an actionable manner. The repository provides a way to store rules, standards and processes with enough structure to provide a context classification process. Bi-directional communications are offered with existing enterprise systems including document management, ERP, CRM and PLM/PDM. It assist workers by checking, driving, recording and reporting design decisions within the desktop tools that end users are already familiar with while maintaining accountability and traceability of the decisions and processes.
