Core Solutions today announced that it has signed an agreement with Berkshire Blanket Inc. to implement CORE’s CBX software as the common platform to support the company’s product development.
Berkshire Blanket is the largest designer and importer of consumer blankets in the United States, selling its products through retailers around the world and also through online channels. The company had no automated systems to manage product development and was facing issues with numerous spreadsheets, manual material library and an inability to collaborate effectively internally.
CBX will help Berkshire create and maintain their collections, including color, size, bill of material, packaging and quality requirements. Social collaboration and critical path management features will also be employed to enable effective communication and timely product development.
“We chose CBX based on their strong experience supporting retailers and brands like us in the design and development of apparel and other soft goods products,” said Dick Horner, CFO at Berkshire Blanket. “The fact that CBX has been used by thousands of retailers and their suppliers across the world for a number of years and they have Asia sourcing in their DNA was another strong reason for us to choose them.”
The CBX platform will act as the interface between Berkshire Blanket and their China and Asia based partners and suppliers. CBX is a cloud-enabled multitenant software solution, which offers similar benefits to an enterprise system without the need for heavy investment in hardware and headcount.
“We are extremely pleased to have such a respected brand such as Berkshire Blanket choose CBX as their key platform to support product development,” said Michael Hung, CEO of Core Solutions. “We expect the benefits in terms of improved collaboration and accelerated product development will make this a lasting and successful partnership.”
