Theorem Solutions have taken to the road demonstrating the very latest interoperability products, publishing and CADverter solutions to major user events at numerous locations across the US and Europe.
Spanning nearly 8 months during 2014, the Theorem team organised supplier days and seminars to help to inform and educate users from the engineering, manufacturing and design communities who use CAD and Visualization tools. The common theme was how users can simplify everyday tasks and processes to reduce costs, improve quality and compress timescales using the latest Theorem technology.
Kevin Levy (Theorem’s head of marketing communications) explained “as a totally independent software solution provider and partnering with all major PLM vendors, Theorem’s technology is robust and integrates seamlessly with all major systems. Whether a CATIA, Siemens or PTC Creo user, a product or tailored solution exists to suit almost any requirement. Theorem’s CADverter v17.2 software continues to be built upon the API’s and toolkits supplied directly from the vendors ensuring system compatibility when sharing data”.
Theorem's latest editions of Multi-CAD and the Publish 3D suite were extremely popular, receiving a great response at each event. Users were also shown how Multi-CAD CADverters allow users to work interactively with native JT, NX and PTC Creo Parametric data from within an active CATIA design environment, eliminating the requirement for external translations. Demonstrations highlighted the CADverter geometry checking functionality, where geometry is searched and then validated to ensure the integrity of the data is correct as it comes into CATIA. Another popular feature on show was how the system tracks changes and then updates the master model as each sub-assembly is developed, providing the users with the highest possible levels of interoperability with JT, NX and Creo files and assemblies.
Theorem’s publishing suite of products (Publish 3D) were also very well received. The product suite includes; Publish 3D Interactive, Publish 3D On Demand and Publish 3D Automated, for CATIA V5, JT, NX and PTC Creo Parametric, and allows companies to easily create and share PDF documentation with the added benefit of containing embedded and fully interactive 3D models published directly from native CAD data. The advantages became clear to all who attended as the published interactive 3D models contained within a standard PDF document can be viewed and interrogated by anyone with a pc, or tablet with the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader. The demonstration showed how components within assemblies can be turned on and off, shaded and rendered for technical authoring and viewed as either a solid, wireframe or even cross-sectioned. It is clear that the Multi-CAD and Publish 3D offer are continuing to grow in sophistication and functionality, with new revisions due later in the year with the release of CADverter v17.3.
In addition to key user events across the UK, the tour included; The COE event in Anaheim, California; ProSTEP iViP Symposium 2014 in Berlin; 3DCIC in Colorado Springs; June’s Siemens PLM Connections 2014 in Florida; PTC Live Global in Boston; The Global Product Data Interoperability Summit 2014 in Phoenix and the recent PLM Europe in Berlin and additional events are planned for the coming year.
