Daimler has selected T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom’s enterprise business, to continue operating the automaker’s mainframes and key IT applications.
The contract to operate Daimler’s mainframes includes modernization of the hardware, which will entail deployment of the latest mainframe technology. Daimler aims to focus more on standard software to ensure efficiency of the operation of IT applications in the production and distribution environments.
T-Systems connects over two million Daimler vehicles across the globe via Daimler’s connected car platform.
