ESI Group Unveils EuroPAM 2004 Keynote Speakers

ESI Group announced the keynote speakers for its 2004 virtual engineering European conference and exhibition scheduled for October 11-13 in Paris. The three-day event will be held at La Villette conference center in the heart of La Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie. EuroPAM's keynote speakers will feature Volker Tietz, Head of Department for CAE Methods, Volkswagen, and Yves Courage, founder of Courage Competition, an independent racing car manufacturer. Volker Tietz, a Dipl.-Ing. of the University of Hanover, is in charge of CAE simulation, software and processes at the Volkswagen R&D Center. He was previously responsible for digital simulation in an ultra light-weight vehicle project and team leader in the serial development of car bodies.

Yves Courage has made himself a name in the racing domain. Since 1982, Courage became indelibly linked to the challenge of Le Mans, as founder Yves Courage pitted his wits and a string of cars bearing his name against the 24 Hours. For more than 20 years, his prototypes compete with the biggest names in international car manufacturing.

First held in 1990, EuroPAM is a unique venue where the latest developments in digital simulation are explained and demonstrated by, and to, global industry leaders. EuroPAM 2004 is expected to draw more than 400 delegates representing a wide cross-section of industries, including aeronautics, aerospace, automotive, biotechnology, defense, electronics, energy, and manufacturing.

On October 11, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in one of the user conferences dedicated to crash and occupant safety, stamping, casting and vibro-acoustics. On October 12-13, EuroPAM 2004 will feature over 40 technical sessions. With "Innovate with Simulation" for main theme, the conference will cover a wide range of topics including automotive crashworthiness, occupant safety, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, material rupture, aero-acoustics and vibro-acoustics, powertrain, engine and fuel cell, fabricated materials, environment, simulation process management, advanced CFD and multiphysics solutions. All plenary and break-out sessions will be simultaneously translated in English, French and German.
