Magma Announces Winners of the MUSIC-Santa Clara ''Best Paper'' Awards

Magma® Design Automation Inc. announced the "Best Paper" winners for the Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits (MUSIC) held here Sept. 16-17. The top award went to Attilla Kovacs of NEC for his presentation entitled, "Reduce Turnaround Time of Large Flat Designs with Blast PlanT Pro." Chienhsi Huang of Broadcom was also recognized, for his presentation entitled, "Implementing a Network Device with Blast RTLT." The MUSIC technical program committee from a field of 30 user papers and 6 technical tutorials selected the winners.

This year's event also featured a panel discussion on design for manufacturability (DFM). In a packed ballroom, panelists and audience members debated various issues including how to characterize silicon, increase yield and improve collaboration between EDA vendors and foundries. For details, see Electronic Engineering Times' article on the panel at www.eedesign.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=47900232
