HRS Showcases Its Latest Software At Southern Manufacturing Show

Jobshop 9.2, the latest release of HRS's integrated suite of manufacturing software, will form the centerpiece of the company's presentation on Stand A25 at the Southern Manufacturing Show, taking place at Thorpe Park on 16th & 17th February.

Jobshop 9.2 builds on the ability of earlier releases to closely control everything from initial costing and estimating, to order processing and invoicing. It is particularly strong in the areas of shop floor data collection, MRP, scheduling, reporting and financial management.

The latest release provides major time savings and more streamlined operation, backed by the need for fewer data entry or command keystrokes. It also simplifies the handling of parts that are cut to size from standard raw materials or sheets, without proliferating the creation of new part numbers for offcuts or part used materials. As a result, Jobshop 9.2 enables different values of length, area or other dimensions-as well as stock locations-to be associated with a single part number.

In parallel, the 'quickload' command in the latest Jobshop release includes the automatic generation of user-definable cutting lists-covering all types of materials and assemblies-along with the production of works orders, routings, BOMs, materials requirements, plan times, delivery dates and customer details; all at the touch of a button. Administrative input and lead times are minimized, giving significantly improved responsiveness and manufacturing throughput.

The use of 'drag and drop' commands and Windows 'Explorer' type Treeview BOM displays enable the fast and accurate creation or checking of all levels of product structures, as well as instant updating of BOMs to accommodate customer-specified options.

Further enhancements in the latest release include the standardized definition and monitoring of purchase orders, which not only provides substantial time savings in tracking bought-out work through goods inwards, stores and inspection, but also in determining suppliers' 'On Time In Full' (OTIF) delivery performance.

In addition, Jobshop 9.2 enables users to specify positive or negative MRP part offsets, to allow them to fine tune their inventory. For example, they can call forward specific parts-such as bought-out components requiring inspection-or delay the availability of other items, such as packaging materials, which are only required towards the end of their manufacturing process.

HRS, along with Licom, Radan and Cabinet Vision, are principal members of Planit Holdings plc. The organization's product range encompasses design to manufacturing applications and Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions.
