Endeca Technologies, Inc., an enterprise information access software company, today announced the appointment of Mark Riggs to the position of senior vice president and worldwide head of its Customer Solutions organization, and named Ben Gaucherin, chief technology officer of Customer Solutions. Riggs joins Endeca from Business Objects, where he led international customer services. Gaucherin joins Endeca from Sapient Corporation where he held the position of chief technology officer. The appointments are the latest move by Endeca to accelerate the development of a new class of information exploration and discovery applications built on the Endeca Information Access Platform.

Under the leadership of Riggs and Gaucherin, Endeca's worldwide customer solutions organization will become a center of excellence for information access application development, and provide services and support to Endeca's clients and partners through three focused divisions. The Endeca education division will provide training and ongoing education for partners and customers.

"Mark and Ben are proven industry veterans. "Their mandate is to advance what is widely recognized as the information access market's premier professional services organization into a strategic center of excellence for our clients and our partner network."

He led the consulting and training divisions in these regions to support the company's transition from products to enterprise solutions, increasing global-services revenue from $40 million to more than $250 million. Prior to Business Objects, he held leadership positions with Cambridge Technology Partners and Electronic Data Systems.

Gaucherin will serve as the technology lead for Endeca's Customer Solutions organization, and will be tasked with defining both the technology infrastructure and vision for mission-critical enterprise deployments. During his tenure at Sapient, Gaucherin held a variety of technology roles where he worked with Global 2000 organizations across North America and Europe. His responsibilities included the delivery of complex business solutions across multiple industries. In this role, Gaucherin advised senior technology executives at both client and partner organizations and lead Sapient's investments in technology and methodology development. Gaucherin was named Sapient's first chief technology officer in 2002.
