Delcam has become an SME Sponsor for the Bloodhound SSC (SuperSonic Car) adventure. Bloodhound SSC aims to set a new world land speed record of 1000mph in South Africa in 2016. Delcam will support the project with its manufacturing software and expertise, and will also produce some components for the record-breaking vehicle in its Advanced Manufacturing Facility.  Several Delcam customers and technical partners are already involved in using the company’s CADCAM software to manufacture parts for the ultimate jet- and rocket-powered racing car. Ford Motor Company is piloting new software from Siemens that facilitates virtual navigation within its assembly plants, helping the company improve global collaboration and better share best practices. The new IntoSite™ application in the Tecnomatix® portfolio is a cloud-based web application developed using the Google Earth infrastructure. IntoSite holds a 3D version of assembly plants and allows users to navigate virtually through the plants – down to the workstations – obtaining a better understanding of global processes. IntoSite was developed by Siemens' product lifecycle management (PLM) software business unit.
