Product Family Description

Today, TCS works with its customers across various industry segments in providing solutions that help in dealing with their core product development and lifecycle priorities. These range from improving new product introduction (NPI) efficiencies, time to market and volume, engineering productivity improvements, product complexity reduction, improving bill of material (BoM) accuracy through cross functional collaboration, better change control, reducing part and inventory costs, factoring compliance right at innovation, decision support & knowledge management.

The solutions for addressing the above mentioned customer priorities are enabled through its TCS’ Core PLM offerings which revolve around enabling global product development, enabling NPI and enabling lifecycle management. Rapid introduction of these solutions and offerings happens through structured and proven models, which help customers to realize their business value by effectively leveraging their PLM investments.

TCS helps customers leverage their PLM investments for a better ROI by continuously identifying gaps between customer priorities and available solutions and building Industry solution accelerators. Customers have largely benefited from the following Industry accelerators built for:

  1. Retail PLM solution for the Softlines, Footwear and Apparel industry built on top of the Teamcenter platform from Siemens PLM Software
  2. Medical devices solution for FDA compliance built on top of Teamcenter platform
  3. Enabling Global Engineering and Collaboration Solution built on ENOVIA V6 platform

According to TCS, customers have achieved rapid PLM deployments using a combination of the above industry solution accelerators and the TCS PLM Process reference model, which is a repository of best practices, industry processes and use cases.

Through its new Product Development IT (PD IT) offering, TCS claims that their customers can now benefit from a comprehensive set of solutions and services for sustaining and transforming their complete IT landscape responsible for Product development, resulting in what TCS refers to as Service Delivery Assurance and Value Enablement (SAVE) for their customers.

TCS claims that Service Delivery transformations through this offering have helped global customers across varied industry verticals to optimize their IT operations and achieve significant reduction in Application development and Maintenance (ADM) cost footprint.

360° Services capability
