  While supporting remote collaboration has always been an important use case in PLM, the PLM software and service providers had to scramble to meet the needs of this crisis. Many changed their licensing policies, encouraging trial by traditional customers and new segments. They had to sell and support customers remotely. They created new offerings to help companies deal with COVID-19. These are but a few areas where the PLM Economy had to innovate in the face of the crisis. In this session, we will focus on the types of changes made, what the companies learned about themselves and their business by meeting this need, and what types of changes did they make that will survive the pandemic.

  Manufacturers faced some of the same challenges in their businesses, and also increasingly had to rely on new technology to support their instantly remote workforce. Many companies sped up their plans for digital transformation. Cloud interest and adoption soared. Services companies looked to things like augmented reality / virtual reality to safely extend their expertise into the field. In this session, we will look at the types of changes discrete manufacturers made to meet the COVID challenge and how the lasting effect of these changes will impact the PLM Economy.
