Matthew Loew, Senior Project Manager, Walt Disney Imagineering

Matthew Loew has a passion for building and leading high-performance engineering teams supporting new product development projects. He has been active in large-scale engineering projects in the entertainment, transportation, defense, energy, industrial, and heavy equipment sectors for 20 years and has led multiple projects introducing advanced Modeling & Simulation and Model-Based Systems Engineering methods to drive the development of new machines and systems.

Matthew joined Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) last June leading projects for future attractions at Disney's international theme parks. He is working to advance the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools for Ride System Development supporting the entire development process from Creative Intent through to Commissioning.

Prior to joining WDI, Matthew served as a New Product Development Chief Engineer for Joy Global, where he was responsible for leading the development of an innovative 65 tonne hybrid excavator. While at Joy Global several patent awards were made as a result of technologies developed under his leadership.

Matthew has also taught engineering classes at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Matthew has consulted on applying MBSE for hydraulic and control system development for a Drilling Rig for a client in the Oil and Gas industry. He has held multiple leadership roles for projects in automotive and defense as well.
