Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Wipro Limited today announced a new global go-to-market agreement to provide joint customers with on-premises IT infrastructure at flexible consumption-based pricing. This collaboration will leverage HPE's Flexible Capacity and Wipro's infrastructure-as-a-service offerings to address the increasing customer demand for consumption based IT.   IT organizations are under pressure not only to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly, but also to deliver new applications, processes and services that allow businesses to innovate. Some enterprises have turned to the public cloud to fulfill these new demands, attracted by the IT-as-a-service model that allows customers to pay as they go only for the technology resources that they use1. While some workloads may be right for the public cloud, others - which may require higher security, compliance and service levels - are best kept on-premises. Through the new HPE and Wipro partnership, customers can take advantage of an on-premises solution that provides these

Capgemini has announced the findings of "The Disconnected Customer: What digital customer experience leaders teach us about reconnecting with customers," a study of 3,300 consumers and 450 executives at the companies that serve them. The research reveals a gap between how businesses and consumers perceive the quality of their customer experience. While three-quarters (75 percent) of organizations believe themselves to be customer-centric, only 30 percent of consumers agree. Frustrated by organizations that don't listen to their feedback or reward their loyalty, the majority of consumers are willing to increase their spend with an organization in return for a better experience (81 percent). Yet, nearly a third of businesses (31 percent) say they face a challenge in keeping up with the rapidly evolving technology landscape and consumers' digital expectations.     Reality check for big business on customer experience  The report, which surveyed consumers across Australia, China, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, U.K. and U.S., provides a reality check for

"Generative Design" - What's that?

CIMdata’s Executive Consultant, Dr. Keith Meintjes, recently shared his views on Generative Design.  He summed his point-of-view in the following quote:  “Some, like me, believe that this move to Generative Design will revolutionize product design and development. In a relative sense, computing has become infinitely fast and vanishingly cheap, so we can now easily use heuristic brute-force methods to search for optimums.”  What do you think about this topic?  Learn more by reading the full blog post at: http://www.cimdata.com/en/resources/cimdata-blog/item/8402-generative-design-what-s-that  And don’t forget to share your own views with Keith!

The latest release of Siemens’ STAR-CCM+® software for multiphysics computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and analysis includes two new seamlessly integrated features which enable automated product design exploration and optimization. STAR-CCM+ version 12.04 introduces Design Manager, allowing users to easily explore multiple design options within their CFD simulations, and STAR-Innovate™ software, which uses the same proven design optimization technology found in HEEDS™ software – a technology Siemens obtained as part of its 2016 acquisition of CD-adapco. STAR-CCM+ is developed by Siemens’ product lifecycle management (PLM) software business, and is part of the company’s Simcenter™ portfolio, a robust suite of simulation and test solutions. "I firmly believe that single-scenario engineering simulations are about to become a thing of the past,” said Jean-Claude Ercolanelli, Senior VP of Product Management at Siemens PLM Software. “If you know how to use STAR-CCM+ then you will instinctively know how to use Design Manager. This means that every engineer who

Polar is pleased to announce that Autodesk Tinkercad and Polar will be integrating platforms to allow the Tinkercad community to 3D print their designs directly from Tinkercad to the Polar Cloud all from the browser - no downloads or hardware required! This feature will be available later this summer and in time for back-to-school.  One driving force behind the integration is to support the GE Additive Education Program for primary and secondary schools.  Autodesk and GE have a long tradition of supporting our educational institutions.   Under GE's program, GE is providing each participating school a Polar 3D printing classroom package that includes 3D printers, kits, materials, curricula and more.  The program is expected to reach 180,000 students in just its first year.  In the GE-sponsored Tinkering with Turbines module, students use Tinkercad to design turbine blades that are 3D printed and then used to build a wind turbine.  The effectiveness of the design is
