Huawei received an Honorable Mention in the Special Award category of the SAP HANA® Innovation Awards 2017 at SAPPHIRE NOW®, the world’s premier business technology event and largest SAP customer-run conference held in Orlando, USA, May 16-18. Huawei was honored with the prestigious award in recognition of its leadership and contribution toward the SAP HANA platform and technology solutions. Specifically, SAP presented the award for Huawei’s RH5885H V3 appliance, which enabled Fonterra, the world's largest exporter of dairy products, to deploy an efficient financial and supply chain management system based on SAP HANA. SAP HANA is an industry-leading in-memory database platform that can be deployed on premise or in the cloud. It is designed to run massive amounts of transactional and analytical data in real-time. Harlow College says it has a hotbed of talent at its new Engineering Centre, and is training all its students on Edgecam software so they will have a practical advantage in the jobs market. The College’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre opened earlier this year, and the £11m investment included five CNC machining centres and lathes along with the independent CAM software, Edgecam, to drive them. Principal Tutor Mark Howland says they looked at a number of systems, and Edgecam was the best one for meeting their overall needs. “It was clear from the initial demonstration that it has both powerful milling and turning capabilities, and wasn’t going to be a headache moving on from CAD to CAM. There’s nothing in it that’s scary for the students.” Simon Boyce, Harlow College’s Head of Marketing, says it’s essential their students become work-ready, so they can enter the workplace with the right skills.

Infor today announced it has completed the acquisition of Birst, Inc., a pioneer of cloud-native, business intelligence (BI), analytics, and data visualization. Birst is a unique, comprehensive platform for sourcing, refining, and presenting standardized data insights at scale to drive business decisions.
