PDF Key takeaways: Wipro’s application of machine learning to parts classification has opened the door for large scale parts classification while reducing subject matter expert effort to reasonable levels. Wipro’s machine learning driven parts classification retains flexibility by leveraging reference standards such as UNSPSC, e-class, and IPC. Wipro’s machine learning driven parts classification can be applied beyond the realm of engineering, for example, into purchasing for supply chain spend analysis and optimization. Wipro’s intelligent parts classification solution can be extended to resolve multi-lingual product development issues such as parts description translation, conversational interfaces (chatbots and voice commands), labels, etc. Efficiency of Large-Scale Parts Classification The growing engineering complexity of products and product systems, coupled with the prevalent global product development and global supply chain strategies, has resulted in undue parts proliferation, which negatively impacts the cost and quality of products. In contrast, effective parts reuse, while delivering on product innovation, is

PDF Key takeaways: SAP is rapidly moving from an on-premise company to one focused on the cloud. Technologies like the Internet of Things, big data, analytics, machine learning, and blockchain are transforming industries and the global economy. SAP Leonardo helps bring business solutions to companies that leverage these technologies in combination with SAP best practices and existing SAP offerings. In early 2017 SAP announced the branding of their Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio as SAP Leonardo, and their plans for their first global SAP Leonardo event for SAP customers in Frankfurt in July 2017. After the success of SAP Leonardo Live in Frankfurt, SAP brought the show to Chicago on November 2-3. Held in the shadow of McCormick Place, about 900 were registered for SAP Leonardo Live, held at the Marriott Marquis Chicago. The opening plenary seemed to have about half that many people, with a mix of industrial customers, SAP employees, and their partners. Day

PDF Key takeaways: CIMdata believes that Mevea offers a exceptional end-to-end solution approach (from inception to in-service operation)—enabling effective digital twin solutions for its customers. Digital Twin as a technology, even though relatively young, is developing rapidly. It is the required foundational technology to enable cognitive behavior in real life in the future. Mevea’s digital twin approach should allow its customers to not only achieve competitiveness, but sustainable product and process innovation. Manufacturing OEMs and their suppliers need to remain globally competitive. Unfortunately, this is becoming a significant challenge for most companies in today’s rapidly changing, globally competitive environment. Products, processes, and the global business environment we are living in are exploding with innovation. Embedded systems combined with interactive environments are playing a major role in the ever-increasing complexity of product design, development, and on-going refinement, as well as manufacturing and service in the connected world of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). To achieve

PDF Key takeaways: The 3DEXPERIENCE platform has elements that support uses well beyond traditional PLM solution activities in product development—including life sciences and urban planning. Dassault Systèmes continues to expand the platform’s breadth and depth. The POWER’BY service promises to streamline integration of older CAD solutions. CIMdata recently attended Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Forum—North America in Florida. One of the main themes of the Forum was the continuing evolution of Dassault Systèmes’ PLM product innovation platform. In the opening keynote, Dassault Systèmes Mr. Bruno Latchague, Senior Executive Vice President, Americas, welcomed the attendees and introduced Mr. Dean Marsh, the new Managing Director, North America. They discussed their center for aerospace and digital manufacturing and how eight universities are using Dassault Systèmes’ products. Ms. Monica Menghini, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, presented a challenging presentation entitled Shattering the Myths about Platforms. Ms. Menghini positioned Dassault Systèmes’ suite of products as the Business Experience Platform. She rebuked the
