Dr. Uyiosa Abusomwan, Director, Engineering Digitalization & AI, Eaton
Uyiosa Abusomwan, PhD. is a Director, Engineering Digitalization & AI at Eaton. In this position, he leads corporate strategies that facilitate the integration of emerging technologies—including AI, automation, and digital twins — into product development and lifecycle management to enhance engineering efficiency. Prior to joining Eaton in 2021, he had held multiple roles in digital transformation, reliability, product lifecycle management, and new technology development.
Additionally, Uyiosa is helping train the next generation of engineering leaders as a Professor of Practice at the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership, Rice University. In this role, he curated and instructs coursework on product management in industry 4.0. His experiences position him as an advocate and passionate leader in product development, product lifecycle management, and digital engineering.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Science and a Doctorate in the Bio-Inspired Robotics Lab at Carnegie Mellon University.
