Oliver “Scott” Beard is the Principal Technical Architect for AI Systems at Cummins Inc., where he leads the architecture and platform strategy behind the company’s AI transformation in engineering. With more than 13 years at Cummins, he began in new product development, designing, validating, and releasing components and subsystems for major engine platforms, working extensively within PLM environments across the product lifecycle. He later transitioned into systems and workflow optimization, focusing on improving engineering efficiency at scale with a strong emphasis on PLM usability and knowledge accessibility.
Today, Scott is responsible for building the AI foundation at Cummins—connecting product knowledge, governance, and enterprise systems to enable durable, scalable intelligence across a 10,000+ engineer organization. He is a mechanical and systems engineer by training and holds degrees from the University of Louisville and Cornell University.
