Dr. Mikkel Haggren Brynildsen, Chief Data Scientist, Grundfos
Dr. Mikkel Haggren Brynildsen works with data architecture, data models, AI, and graph database technologies at Grundfos. Grundfos is the largest pump manufacturer in the world, based in Denmark, with more than 19,000 employees globally.
Mikkel is the chief data scientist in the Group Data and AI department, an enterprise centre of excellence for data strategy and AI, which hehelped start in 2017. The Group Data and AI department focuses on introducing and maturing AI solutions and on enabling data interoperability within the enterprise.
Mikkel holds a master’s degree (MMus) in electrical guitar, a master’s degree in physics, and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Physics.
Mikkel has taught mathematics at Aalborg University and participated in the “industrial ontologies foundry” (IOF) and the “Industrial Data Ontology” working group (formerly known as the ISO15926-14 group of POSC Caesar). He is working with AI standardization work at the Danish Standards Foundation committee DS-855, with industrial data standardization in DS-565. He also sits on various advisory boards and has spoken at conferences on AI, industrial data strategy, and IoT.
