Craig Spacey is currently Group Support & Services Director for BAE Systems Plc responsible for driving Enterprise value creation from BAE Systems’ c.$38bn support portfolio (Global, non-US).
Before his current role, Craig shaped and initially led the UK Submarine Delivery Enterprise’s collaboration programme, seconded as Programme Director into the UK’s Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA). A complex Enterprise environment involving three Defence primes (BAES, Babcock & Rolls-Royce) and three MoD organizations. Craig led the creation of a joint vision, mission, strategy, and delivery plans to drive increased enterprise performance – with notable improvements recognised in the SDA’s annual accounts during his tenure. The programme continues today going from strength-to-strength.
Before joining BAE Systems, Craig spent three years leading business development in asset management services for BMT (a UK-based consultancy), creating and leading successful business unit market strategies.
Craig started his career as a nuclear engineer in the Royal Navy, serving on the UK’s attack submarines globally, gaining significant leadership experience in complex asset lifecycle management. Whilst working on nuclear submarines around the world was a unique and challenging experience, it was Craig’s short-time serving in Afghanistan (not many submarines there!) that left the most lasting impression of military service.
