Kent R. Freeland has been a nuclear power and IT systems professional for 40 years, as a US Navy nuclear power officer, NPP designer, asset manager, configuration management expert, and procurement/supplier manager for over a dozen NPP projects, utilities, and operating NPPs. He was an original designer of the Indus Passport (Ventyx) ERP product in the 1990s, developed nuclear PLM solutions for Siemens, and has authored several EPRI, IAEA, and other nuclear NGO technical documents, as well as lectured for IAEA on four continents. He most recently created the configuration management system for design control at the Barakah NPP in the UAE, utilizing a STEP/PLM-based solution for next-generation (GEN III+ NPP) long-term lifecycle management of at least 80 years of operation.
