Dana Nickerson, Executive Consultant, CIMdata
Dana Nickerson is a CIMdata Executive Consultant. Prior to CIMdata Dana was a Managing Solutions Architect at Capgemini. Previously he was the President of Plural Technology and Noetic Data, both PLM implementation and services firms. Back in 2013, he joined CIMdata as the Director of Social Product Development & Collaboration where he researched social media trends and technologies combining them with traditional PLM processes and technologies.
As Director of Engineering Information Technology at Whirlpool Corporation, Mr. Nickerson developed the strategy and information architecture for their PLM deployment and a supply chain cost-reduction effort generating $2.7B in free cash flow over two years. He also had responsibility for evaluating, selecting, negotiating, and acquiring global engineering IT including MCAD, ECAD, PLM, and CSM (component supplier management). He led a software development and support group that complemented commercial off-the-shelf tools with project management, cost management, test data acquisition and reporting, lab scheduling and reporting, and knowledge management tools.
As the founder of Convergence Data Services, a leading CSM software solution provider, Mr. Nickerson worked with several industrial and high-tech companies to develop an information architecture and software product used to capture detailed data about the components included in their products. This data was used to enable mechanical and electronic component selection, supply chain decision support, and component cost reduction.
Mr. Nickerson was a senior management consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton and at Accenture. He led teams for both firms developing PLM strategies and plans for automotive, aerospace, discrete manufacturing, and high-tech companies. He served as Vice President and General Manager at the Hearst Corporation building a new business startup developing multi-million-part catalogs for high-tech companies.
Mr. Nickerson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Systems with a minor in Business from Daniel Webster College, Nashua, New Hampshire.
