Ian Parent has been employed in engineering for 20 years with Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), beginning in 2000 as a Draftsman for mechanical components. Discovering an affinity for CAD systems, he progressed through a variety of roles within the engineering teams and supporting projects focused on evolving 3d modeling methods and process development. This bridging expertise of user/client and systems knowledge led to a position in Engineering Systems in 2010 where he has since been involved with the design and implementation of software and systems solutions. This has ranged from continuous support for CAD tool introductions and upgrades up to the scale of an enterprise PLM system introduction at P&WC. Currently he is using those experiences to provide subject matter expertise in enterprise level Model-Base Design and Digital Product Definition.
Ian is a contributor to CIMdata A&D PLM Action Group: MBD, CAX-IF, PDES Lotar PMI and the AIA BTIC MBD industrial teams.
Ian holds an Honours Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology Design and Drafting.
