Do any of the following statements sound a little too familiar?

Most people think of PLM in the context of typical discrete manufactured products, but it applies equally well to products that are produced in other ways. For instance, chemicals, food and beverages, and pharmaceuticals are created in a continuous process flow. In the process world, what people think of as an item is an ingredient, a bill of material becomes a formula, and a manufacturing routing becomes a recipe. Many PLM solutions support this process-centric approach in much the same way as they support discrete manufactured products. Other process aspects such as workflow, ERP integration, claims and compliance, least-cost formulation, and supplier integration will also be discussed.
