APlus can be used with Mastercam Mill, Lathe, or Router licenses. Using the same interface Mastercam users are familiar with, APlus customers can program, backplot, and simulate their 3D printing scenarios just like they would with traditional toolpaths in Mastercam. ABB announced an investment of $280 million to expand its manufacturing footprint in Europe and build a new state-of-the-art ABB Robotics European Campus in Västerås, Sweden. The Campus will serve as the hub for ABB Robotics’ offering in Europe, providing customers with AI-enabled collaborative and industrial robots, as well as digital solutions to support flexible automation as part of the company’s “local for local” production strategy. Replacing the existing robotics facilities at the site, the new Campus is planned to open in late 2026. “The investment in our new Campus is driven by customer demand and projected market growth,” said Björn Rosengren, ABB CEO. “Following important investments in China and the U.S, the new facility in Sweden will strengthen our capabilities in serving our customers in Europe with locally manufactured products in a growing market. CGTech, the developer of VERICUT verification, simulation and optimization software, is announcing an exciting reseller agreement with Bristol-based iCOMAT, pioneer of the first-ever defect-free tape-steering process for composite component production. The special worldwide arrangement will see iCOMAT sell and support a dedicated version of VERICUT VCP/VCS software in support of its patented manufacturing process for composites. iCOMAT has registered notable growth since it began trading in 2019: today the company has almost 30 employees and a branch in Athens. Moreover, iCOMAT has plans to double its headcount in the coming 12 months, a move that will help spur ambitions for further international expansion. Providing the basis for this success is iCOMAT’s unique composites production process, known as Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS). Due to manufacturing limitations, conventional composite part design relies on straight fibre layers, leading to structures which use more material than necessary and are heavier and more expensive as a result.
