Mentor Graphics Announces Status as a Spatial CAA V5 Adopter

Mentor Graphics Corporation ( http://www.mentor.com/ ) announced that it has joined the Spatial CAA V5 Adopter Program within its harness systems division (HSD). Spatial Corp is a subsidiary of Dassault Systemes.

This agreement between Spatial Corp. and Mentor Graphics means that they will be able to offer customers new software that will facilitate bi-directional data exchange between HSD's electrical design software and Dassault Systemes' CATIA V5 mechanical CAD (MCAD) solution. Several of Mentor Graphics' customers are migrating to Dassault Systemes' Component Application Architecture Version 5 (CAA V5) platform, so the software developed under this agreement will provide users with improved integration between their mechanical and electrical systems design environments. Mentor Graphics recently announced the CapitalŪ Harness SystemsT (CHS) release 3, covering an extensive portion of the electrical design and harness engineering flow. This agreement will result in much closer integration between the CHS tool and CATIA V5.

"In order to design and manufacture the electrical architecture of today's electromechnical systems, companies have to create a design flow that enables collaboration between multiple and diverse design teams," said Martin O'Brien, general manager, harness systems division, Mentor Graphics. "Being a Spatial CAA V5 Adopter allows us to embed the CATIA V5 development environment into Mentor facilities and provides the support needed to ensure that first class products emerge to facilitate excellent interoperability between Mentor tools and CATIA V5 applications."

"Having the opportunity to welcome Mentor Graphics as a Spatial CAA V5 Adopter reinforces the value of Spatial's position with CAA V5," said Keith Mountain, president and chief operating officer, Spatial. "We are pleased to be working with Mentor Graphics and have no doubt their products will also add value to Dassault Systemes PLM solutions portfolio."
