SolidCAM Named by CIMdata as the Most Rapidly Growing CAM Company in 2003
In the recently released CIMdata NC Market Assessment Report V13 for the year 2003, SolidCAM has been named as the Most Rapidly Growing CAM Company for 2003 in terms of vendor revenue (+39.4%). CIMdata is the leading strategic consulting and market research organization for PLM and CAM software solutions.
This major increase in SolidCAM sales was due to two main reasons: (1) Since SolidCAM's certification as Gold Partner product for SolidWorks in January 2003, SolidCAM has been well accepted by existing SolidWorks software customers who want an integrated CAM solution with powerful functionality, (2) the SolidCAM+SolidWorks bundle, with its CAD software and integrated CAM functionality, has created a new brand of CAM that is very attractive to manufacturing customers.
SolidCAM supports 2.5D and 3D Milling, 4/5 axes Milling, Turning + Driven Tools and WireEDM. SolidCAM provides single-window integration to SolidWorks ( http://www.solidworks.com/ ), and is fully associative with SolidWorks geometry. The combined SolidWorks and SolidCAM solution allows users to optimize their CNC-programming process, resulting in faster time-to-market and greater profits for manufacturing organizations and machine shops.
SolidCAM's sales growth is continuing at an accelerated pace in 2004, with additional major SolidWorks resellers worldwide selling SolidCAM as their preferred Gold-Certified, integrated CAM product.

SolidCAM works in both part and assembly mode and supports SolidWorks configurations. When the geometry used to define a machining operation is changed in the SolidWorks design, SolidCAM enables the user to automatically synchronize all machining operations with the updated geometry. The full associativity of SolidCAM machining to the SolidWorks design model reduces errors when the model changes, and supports the process where updates are received for models already machined.
