MCS, Inc. Releases 'AnvilCAD Lite'

Manufacturing and Consulting Services (MCS) launched AnvilCAD LiteT, the result of the cumulative experience of the company's 33 years as a pioneer in mechanical computer aided design. Aimed at designers of all levels of experience, the 2D/3D design and detail drafting software package delivers full CAD functionality and online tutorials at a cost-effective price, with the most reliable and time-tested code in the industry.

AnvilCAD Lite is the first in a series of new products that MCS will roll out over the next year as part of a suite. The suite will introduce improvements in the learning process for CAD systems, as well as new concepts of modeling.

AnvilCAD Lite is a faster, streamlined version of MCS' proven Design Drafter package, and eliminates many of the add-on features to Design Drafter that had been included over the years at the request of individual companies. The Lite version also emphasizes multimedia coaching tools and a user interface that are especially targeted at making new and experienced users alike productive as quickly as possible.

The software has been beta tested by several users, including Steven Kingery, an industrial engineer at Jayco and an adjunct instructor at IV Tech State in Indiana. He has used a variety of CAD packages both on the job at Jayco, a designer of RVs, and in his role as community college instructor of CAD classes. After working with AnvilCAD Lite, he found that the software provided "phenomenal" capabilities at an extremely attractive price point.

"With this package, MCS has combined the basic essentials for CAD designers as well as offering upper level tools such as parametric drafting and view management," says Kingery. "For a basic design & drafting package, you can't ask for anything better than AnvilCAD Lite, and it also has the easiest user interface to use and teach. The icons are properly described and you don't run into the problem you have with other packages, where they are a little weak on guiding designers through how to modify entities."

AnvilCAD Lite is priced at $595.00, which includes 30 days of free tech support. Users have the option of purchasing an annual technical service agreement for $125.00 for ongoing support. The software is available immediately.

AnvilCAD Lite software can be used by mechanical design engineers to create a virtually unlimited array of products, such as eyeglass frames, space shuttles, race cars, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, knives, utility trailers, tires, rifles, and aircraft carriers.

Manufacturing and Consulting Services, Inc. (MCS) ( http://www.mcsaz.com ) was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company develops 3-D mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE software systems to help companies meet their design, modeling, engineering and manufacturing objectives.
