Synapsis Announces Automated Part Classification Solution for UGS PLM Solutions' TeamcenterŽ Product Lifecycle Management Portfolio
Synapsis Technology, Inc. announced the immediate availability of PartDictionaryT, an out-of-the-box configuration of the part classification solution in TeamcenterŽ. Based on the industry-standard RosettaNet Technical Dictionary (RNTD v3.2), PartDictionary reduces time spent by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on part classification and enhances integration with their supply chains.
PartDictionaryT employs the RosettaNet e-business process standards to establish a part classification hierarchy within Teamcenter - a process which would otherwise take companies months or even years to build manually. Once established, this part classification solution enables OEMs to make better outsourcing decisions and, because it is standards-based, allows them to essentially "speak the same language" as their suppliers relative to parts inventory, thereby strengthening the OEM's supplier relationships.
