TurboCare Expands SofTech ProductCenter PLM Implementation

SofTech, Inc. ( http://www.softech.com/ ) announced that TurboCare is expanding its implementation of SofTech's ProductCenter PLM (product lifecycle management) solution. TurboCare is recognized worldwide for its expertise in turbomachinery part replacement and repair services for the utility, refining, oil, gas, and related industries. TurboCare has added ProductCenterT Workflow, ProductCenterT ProductDashboardT, and ProductCenterT Microsoft Office Integrators to their existing ProductCenter implementation, which will give the company additional capabilities to more closely integrate dispersed engineering organizations for project collaboration.

ProductCenter Workflow will automate design review and approvals across TurboCare facilities in Massachusetts, California, Connecticut, Florida, and Texas. While the goal with ProductDashboard is to organize and deliver product lifecycle data in more appropriate user context with user-customizable Web portals - similar to a MyYahoo!T portal but geared to PLM. In addition, TurboCare's Quality Assurance organization gains direct access to ProductCenter PLM functionality from within Microsoft Office applications with the addition of ProductCenter Microsoft Office Integrators to enhance and streamline control of ISO-related quality documents.

"Being after-market producers of customized parts and services for large-scale turbomachinery creates unique product lifecycle management challenges," states Brian Hannah, TurboCare vice president of information technology. "ProductCenter provides flexibility and the measure of control we need to manage these diverse product lines. It facilitates cost effective part, assembly, and supporting lifecycle information reuse and benefits us when multiple facilities collaborate on projects. We expect additional productivity gains, especially with ProductCenter Workflow and ProductDashboard, which will lend further process consistency across facilities and put timely, job-specific information at the fingertips of those who need it."
