Kubotek USA, Inc. Releases KEYCREATOR; CADKEY & NC-Matic Evolves to KEYCREATOR for Modeling and Machining

Kubotek® USA, Inc. announced the availability of KEYCREATORT, a new line of Windows®-based 3D engineering software built from the established CADKEY® and NC-MaticT product lines acquired by its parent, Kubotek Corporation, in 2003. KEYCREATOR expands on the CADKEY solution and delivers a power-packed set of design tools for precise solid/surface modeling, drafting, 2 & 3 axis NC milling. In addition, the suite of translators allow users to read models directly from most parametric-based programs including; Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics, CATIA and SolidWorks files to work with them as though they were created using KEYCREATOR.

"KEYCREATOR is based on a unique design approach we call Pure GeometryT," reports Bob Bean, Kubotek USA's Chief Operating Officer and the former President of CADKEY Corporation. "Because it does not rely on constraints or history KEYCREATOR provides total editing control of both native and imported geometry, excellent support for complex surfacing, point clouds, polygon models and an easy to use approach to both 2D drawing and 3D modeling. In addition, with the incorporation of the NC-Matic technology, KEYCREATOR is also available with fully-integrated NC options. KEYCREATOR features hundreds of productivity advantages over the CADKEY products and feedback from our customers has been enthusiastic."

"I can't afford to go back. My work is getting done faster and more accurately with KEYCREATOR," said Tim Atkins of Bernard Mould, Detroit, Michigan and Ontario, Canada. "With some of the new functionality, what would have taken me an hour has now been reduced to five minutes or so. And, with the direct translators, any of the files we get from our customers are easily translated to native files so everything is so much cleaner to work with."

"This announcement is much larger than just a new name for CADKEY," added John Wright McCullough, Product Manager. "Of course KEYCREATOR will continue to be a significant presence in the manufacturing-related design markets in which CADKEY has served so well. However the Kubotek vision for the new KEYCREATOR product line is much broader than MCAD. The Pure Geometry 3D modeling approach also has practical applications in many scientific, artistic and engineering fields which Kubotek Corporation views collectively as Creation Engineering. Kubotek has been serving such markets in Japan for many years and we are excited about bringing this technology to the rest of the world."

KEYCREATOR products are designed and built by Kubotek USA, Inc., headquartered in Marlborough, MA. The latest version is currently shipping to all Annual Update Contract customers over the next few weeks.

In December of 2003, Kubotek Corporation of Osaka Japan formed the wholly owned subsidiary, Kubotek USA, Inc. that is responsible for managing product development and business activities of the KEYCREATOR product line strategy in the United States and Europe.
