Engineers Experience Increased Productivity With ALGOR V14.3

ALGOR, Inc. announced that its users are reporting increased productivity with ALGOR V14.3, the company's latest FEA software release. ALGOR V14.3 features additional result evaluation and presentation options; an all-new, fast, iterative solver; new analysis capabilities for Mechanical Event Simulation (MES), electrostatics and heat transfer; and much more.

"The new results evaluation and presentation options in ALGOR V14.3, including the new Monitor capability, have already saved me time during the iterative design process," said Tammy Gardiner of Metallurgical & Materials Technologies, Inc., a failure analysis and material testing consulting firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "The integrated Monitor is very intuitive and has enabled me to click on a point in the model and immediately see a graph of results so that I can quickly identify changes for my next Mechanical Event Simulation iteration. Also, the automatic annotation of minimum and maximum values is a real time-saver."

ALGOR V14.3 features:

•  new result evaluation and presentation options including:

•  built-in, virtual instrumentation through an all-new Monitor for time-dependent result plots

•  the ability to define result probes at desired locations

•  annotations to highlight the location of minimum and maximum results

•  the ability to display undisplaced models using transparency

•  the ability to display impact planes for MES

•  an embedded animation player

•  automatic generation of result images for inclusion in reports

•  an all-new iterative solver that significantly reduces the solution time of linear static stress, heat transfer, electrostatic and fluid flow analyses for mid- to large-size models such as CAD assemblies

•  improved contact capabilities for MES

•  a new spring element for MES with full, 3-D visualization

•  temperature-dependent materials for electrostatic analysis

•  viscous heating capabilities for heat transfer applications such as extrusion, compounding and molding
