GEOMATE Launches Engineering Decision-Support Software
GEOMATE Corporation announced an enhanced version of GrafiCalc specifically designed to provide engineers interactive design decision-support information. This version of GrafiCalc incorporates a powerful constraint inference engine as well as a library of over one hundred geometry-access "smart" calculation functions that allow users to create flexible intent-models of engineering challenges. Then users can interactively change design input or output conditions to ask and receive instantaneous decision-support information and solutions.
As much as ninety percent of a design's final performance and cost are nailed down in the first ten percent of the design cycles. Under the current paradigm users create arbitrary models in CAD and then subject them to analysis using FEA or other post-modeling simulation packages. GrafiCalc shifts the paradigm by moving critical aspects of analysis and design validation forward in the design cycle, before committing to more expensive design steps. GrafiCalc is especially effective in conceptual design stage when users have minimum information and maximum questions, while conflicts are easier to detect and changes are less expensive to make.
This release of GrafiCalc will allow users to explore multiple design options, automate day-to-day geometry-dependent engineering calculations, leverage existing investments in calculation and CAD applications as well as reuse knowledge-with unprecedented ease, speed, and accuracy.
A 2-way DXF translator built within GrafiCalc is certified for geometry exchange between GrafiCalc and all popular CAD applications. Additionally, users can dynamically link function models in GrafiCalc with existing analytical models in Excel to create powerful problem solving platforms. As a "designed for Windows" application GrafiCalc allows users to leverage all other Windows based documentation and Internet applications.
