Magma Announces 90-Nanometer Design Enablement Kit for IBM, Chartered Process Platform

MagmaŽ Design Automation Inc. ( http://www.magma-da.com ) announced the availability of a preliminary 90-nanometer (nm) RTL-to-GDSII design enablement kit in support of the recently announced IBM-Chartered cross-foundry design enablement program. Included in the kit are a state-of-the-art standard cell library, Magma technology and setup files, and a reference design flow for enabling high-performance, power-optimized designs. The unique and simple kit, used in conjunction with Magma's Blast CreateT, Blast PlanT and Blast FusionŽ products, is designed to make adopting the jointly developed IBM-Chartered 90-nm semiconductor process platform fast and easy.

"With the IBM-Chartered 90-nm process platform emerging as the industry standard, we continue to extend our ecosystem of pre-qualified design technology by working with other industry leaders," said Kevin Meyer, vice president of worldwide marketing and services at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. "The Magma 90-nm design enablement kit minimizes the learning curve by offering a truly streamlined RTL-to-GDSII design flow pre-loaded with the 90-nm design rules and library, helping designers get started right away."

"Magma is excited to partake as a solution provider in this common enablement platform. Designing in 90 nm creates a whole new era of design issues. As an advanced technology solution provider, Magma fully understands this and is helping our customers resolve these new issues," said Michael Ma, vice president of business development at Magma. "By offering a design enablement kit that includes our entire technology setup files, integrated library and a reference design flow, our customers can get to their IBM-Chartered 90-nm silicon in the quickest and most direct way."
