AWR's Analog Office RFIC Design Suite Chosen by Ashvattha Semiconductor

Applied Wave Research, Inc. (AWRT) ( http://www.mwoffice.com/ ) announced a corporate agreement with Ashvattha Semiconductor, Inc. for the company to purchase AWR's Analog OfficeT design suite. Ashvattha will utilize the Analog Office software for the design of its radio-frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), which, through integrate multiple standards on a single chip.

Ashvattha Semiconductor, Inc., "The Wireless Convergence Company," is a provider of integrated RF chips for wireless device manufacturers. Using its patented technology, Ashvattha has successfully integrated multiple RF front-ends on a single chip, thus cost-effectively enabling the creation of multimode, multifunction devices.

"Using Analog Office design software, we are able to analyze our advanced RF front-end circuits in greater detail than ever before, and in the same environment, we are able to see the system ramifications of a circuit-level change," said Kartik Sridharan, vice president of engineering at Ashvattha. "This is extremely powerful in RF system design. Analog Office's set of integrated simulation technologies, comprehensive suite of RF measurements, accurate simulation models, and available RF-complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) foundry process design kit enables us to achieve our design objectives in the shortest time. We are looking forward to deploying the Analog Office design platform more widely in our RF system design flow."

Analog Office design suite is the first complete IC design system in over ten years that is specifically architected and optimized from the ground up for next-generation analog and RFIC designs. The solution, which is focused on total RF closure, offers a concurrent interconnect-driven and RF-aware design methodology in a unified design environment that delivers ease-of-use, interactivity, and openness. The toolset spans the entire IC design flow, from system-level to circuit-level design and verification, for complete top-to-bottom and front-to-back analog and RFIC design. The Analog Office design suite is fully integrated into existing digital and mixed signal IC design flows and enables analog and RFIC design engineers to shorten their development cycles and speed wireless products to market.

The 2004 version has been enhanced to provide bidirectional interfaces to popular industry circuit simulators, electromagnetic simulators, and IC physical verification toolsets.
