Informative Graphics Offers Net-It® CAD Open Beta For MicroStation®

Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC) announced that it is offering an open beta-test version of it Net-It CAD plug-in for Bentley MicroStation®. Net-It CAD for MicroStation gives users a fast, simple, and content-secure alternative to Adobe PDF for publishing design files for viewing with IGC's free reader.

The free Beta version of Net-It CAD Plug-In for MicroStation is will be available at http://www.net-it.com/netit_plugins.asp starting May 27, 2004. The production release is set for Q3 2004.

As a MicroStation installed plug-in, Net-It CAD converts MicroStation 2D design files to Content Sealed Format (CSF) files viewable by IGC products. Published CSF drawings are generally much smaller than Adobe PDF files, have higher resolution and support MicroStation CAD concepts including levels and line weight handling. CSF features IGC's Visual RightsT technology, a document rights management framework that is integrated with the publishing process. Visual Rights includes persistent security controls that are manually selected and applied to the published drawing. Designers can expire viewing rights, enable password protection, allow/disallow plotting, copying, and measurement. For more information about Visual Rights, visit http://www.infograph.com/visrights.htm

Net-It CAD leverages Microstation's API to read and convert the geometry data with accurate fidelity and full resolution that exceeds what is possible using print-based publishing. Informative Graphics intends to additionally support 3D in a later release. Published designs can be viewed, printed to scale, and measured (snapping to actual geometry points) using the free Brava!® Reader.
