MachineWorksT Version 6.1 Released

MachineWorks Ltd, ( http://www.machineworks.com ) a supplier of simulation and verification solutions, has announced the release of MachineWorks v6.1.

V6.1 has been led by the requirements of MachineWorks' customers. The MachineWorks team have listened to customer's issues and included their requirements in v6.1 enhancements. As Lucy Davies, Customer and Product Service Manager puts it, "We see customer support as an integral part of the product. We make every effort to provide appropriate support to the wide range of issues that arise from MachineWorks' partners."

Some of the analytical enhancements include improved gouge and undercut reports throughout all four engines. In addition, it is possible to obtain information on the geometry of the solid, determining whether it is open or concave.

MachineWorks has also carried out development on specific engines to harmonize capabilities across the full range of technologies.

In Visicut, the most versatile MachineWorks engine, analytical geometry can now be attached to the solid model allowing target part comparison with True Surface refinement. Moreover, improved information from collision detection can be obtained to help analyze and visualize clashes more easily. In Multicut, collision detection with fixtures is now also available.

However, the most noticeable of all enhancements is the support for real time rendering using OpenGL. The advanced features such as shadows and texture maps allow rendering in all simulation engines. David Manley, Managing Director of MachineWorks states, "We realized that the CAM market was demanding more sophisticated real time rendering, and this is what we have delivered".
