RAND Worldwide Appoints New Chief Financial Officer
Rand A Technology Corporation ( http://www.rand.com ) operating as RAND Worldwide . ("the Company"), announced that Kriss W. Bush, CPA, has been appointed the Company's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. Mr. Bush is a senior finance executive with extensive technology, manufacturing and global services business knowledge and has more than 22 years of strategic global finance experience with the Big Four, Investment Banking organizations and Global Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Bush, 45, joins RAND Worldwide from his role as a private consultant in which he advised a number of Canadian, US and European companies on business structuring, process improvement re-engineering (TQM and Six Sigma), capital markets financing, M&A, cross-border tax structuring and international treasury issues. For the past two years, he has also served the Canadian government as a senior advisor to the International Tax Advisory Committee of CCRA. He succeeds Rui Malhinha (see RAND Worldwide press release dated February 23, 2004).
During 2001 and 2002, Mr. Bush was Vice President of Taxation for Nortel Networks Corporation where he developed the global tax strategy, initiated a global process improvement restructuring, which reduced costs and created a best practices culture for this $20 billion global telecommunications manufacturing company with operations in 100 countries including the U.S., China, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Canada.
Prior to joining Nortel, he was based in London, England as Senior Vice President, M&A Tax Advisory and Executive Director of Debt Capital Markets Structuring for Lehman Brothers Investment Bank. There, he structured and executed cross-border tax efficient M&A transactions and developed leading edge business focused capital markets financing opportunities for US and European clients.
From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Bush helped develop and execute the global transition and strategy for Cable & Wireless PLC in London, a $15 billion global British communications company with businesses covering internet commerce, ISPs, VoIP systems integration, software development, local and long distance telephone, cable and satellite operating in 75 countries. As that company's chief tax executive, he was responsible for global tax, M&A, tax efficient treasury management and legal structuring. He also developed the European shared services and finance centers in Ireland and led the acquisitions and structuring of the company's Internet expansion in Europe.
Previously, he served as European Director of Corporate Finance and Tax in Brussels for ITT Corporation from 1993 to 1997. He was a Vice President with American Express International from 1988 to 1993 and a Manager with Touché Ross and Price Waterhouse from 1983 to 1988. Mr. Bush graduated in 1981 with an undergraduate degree in accounting from Indiana University, before receiving his Masters in Global Tax Strategy in 1984 from American University in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the Executive International Corporate Finance Program from the London Business School in England, as well as a licensed certified public accountant in Maryland and a CFP.
