The PSA Peugeot Citroen Group Selects MatrixOne to Manage Collaborative Product Development Efforts With External Partners

MatrixOne, Inc. announced that the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group is implementing MatrixOne's Matrix10T product to help the company develop and bring to market original and innovative automobiles in rapid succession, in order to satisfy demanding customers with wide-ranging requirements. The PSA Peugeot Citroen Group will use MatrixOne Team CentralT, one of the Matrix10 Business Process applications, as a key collaboration solution for its global network of partners.

The PSA Peugeot Citroen Group will use MatrixOne Team Central to enable their geographically-dispersed design teams to collaborate in virtual workspaces with its network of partners, in order to share and federate key product and part information. This is providing the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group with the ability to streamline product development cycles through improved overall collaboration-improving information reliability and reducing development time.

According to Annick Gentes-Kruch, B2B Director, PSA Peugeot Citroen, "To meet objectives of internal growth and cost control, it is essential for the Group to cooperate more closely, with its partners, particularly in the area of product development. Our use of MatrixOne Team Central improves the quality of the information shared within an extended enterprise project team and brings a better efficiency in development cycles."

PSA Peugeot Citroen is the second largest automobile manufacturer in Europe with 15.4% of the market in 2003 (individual cars and light utility vehicles). The PSA Group, known for its two general brands, Peugeot and Citroen, has a rich automobile and industrial past. The company's three main objectives include the following:   useful innovation focused on the environment, comfort and security; sales growth supported by increased international development (an estimated 4 million vehicles to be sold by 2006); profitable expansion enabling the Group to auto-finance its investments and remain independent.
