Proficiency Licensed LGS 2D - Two-Dimension Variational Solver by LEDAS

LEDAS announced that Proficiency (http://www.proficiency.com ) has licensed the LEDAS LGS geometric solver and has integrated it in Proficiency's Collaboration Gateway feature-based interoperability solution. The LGS 2D solver is being used to support the exchange of 2D geometric constraints present in the CAD systems currently supported by Proficiency, including CATIA® V4, CATIA® V5, I-DEAS NX® Series, Pro/ENGINEER®, and UnigraphicsT NX Series.

Serge Preys, LEDAS Vice-Director for Marketing said: "We have developed a genuinely competitive product, and its use by Proficiency is the best proof of that. We are grateful to our partners at Proficiency for the active part they played in the definition of requirements for LGS: working to satisfy those requirements was an important factor in building a high-quality solver. It has been a great pleasure working with Proficiency, and we hope to continue to build on this cooperation."

Leading manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, and shipbuilding industries, including EADS Defence Electronics, Magneti Marelli, Federal Mogul Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, The Ford Motor Company, SGF, GKN Automotive Driveline, Wärtsilä Switzerland Ltd., Hayes Lemmerz and Yazaki North America are Proficiency's customers.

LEDAS Ltd. is a private software company founded in 1999 and located in Novosibirsk, Russia. LEDAS developed a state-of-the-art proprietary technology based on constraint programming, and applies it for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tasks, including CAD/CAM domain. LGS 2D (LEDAS Geometric Solver) is two-dimensional computation engine that supports creation and modification of designs using geometric and engineering constraints in CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM solutions. This new, state-of- the-art engine can be used by application developers who need strong variational and constraint-based functionality in CAD, modeling, engineering software, or other geometry-related applications. Current version of LGS is 1.1, to read more about LGS please visit http://lgs.ledas.com
