Theorem Announces New Inventor to ProductView Adapter

The immediate availability of its AutoDesk Inventor to ProductView Adapter marks the latest addition to the range of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) products from CAD/CAM product data exchange specialist, Theorem Solutions Ltd.

The growing importance of collaborative working within the product development and manufacturing environments has seen the launch of several new applications for viewing core design data. Theorem's latest translator is a direct data converter between AutoDesk Inventor and PTC's ProductView visual collaboration software.

The adapter accurately publishes 3D part geometry and assemblies, together with associated attribute information, to the compact formats used by ProductView. It has also been designed to be compatible with other PTC ProductView adapters; and can be integrated into Windchill, DIVISION Graphics Server, or other PDM environments. In addition, the new adapter is closely integrated with Inventor through its ability to directly access the 3D modeling system's files via the AutoDesk Apprentice API Development Environment.

Theorem's new translator operates in both command-line or 'worker' modes and offers a comprehensive range of capabilities. These include the conversion of component geometry files to the ProductView .ol file format; and conversion of assembly structure and part orientations to the ProductView .ed file format-while retaining attributes such as meta-data and color information. Such is the precision of the translated data that accurate measurements can even be determined in ProductView.

Theorem's on-line translation service is at http://www.cadverter.co and information on all its products and services can be found at http://www.theorem-usa.com and http://www.theorem.co.uk
