Delcam Appoints New Sales Manager for ArtCAM in North America
Delcam International announced the appointment of Sean Plunkett as the new North American Sales Manager for its ArtCAM range of artistic CADCAM software. He will be responsible for the continued growth in sales of the software, through the management of the existing distribution channels and appointment of new resellers, and through the coordination of sales promotion, marketing and technical support throughout North America.
The ArtCAM software range is used in the manufacture of many different products incorporating intricate decoration, including jewelry, coins, badges and medals, signs, confectionery, tableware, packaging and footwear.
Unlike conventional CADCAM systems, which tend to require knowledge of engineering and mathematical principles, ArtCAM is a more artistic application, which makes extensive use of color in developing designs. This approach makes it very easy to produce sophisticated designs, even for people that are not usually strong in technical subjects.
Sean brings to the position a well-established knowledge of CADCAM software from working in the manufacturing industry as a mould maker before joining Delcam in 1999. After starting with the company as an Applications Engineer for ArtCAM support in North America, Sean moved to Delcam's headquarters in Birmingham, UK, where he worked for the International Support Team on the full range of Delcam's Power Solution software products.
Over the years, Sean has worked with clients both large and small, helping them to increase productivity and improve quality across a variety of applications. Sean also has extensive working knowledge of CNC machining through close working relationships with many different router companies such as Camtech Industries, MultiCAM, Flexicam, Shopbot Tools and Thermwood. He also has experience of CNC programming in education, having written a curriculum for an ArtCAM course specifically for schools.
