Theorem Announces CATIA V4 to JT Standalone Translator for Windows Platform

Theorem Solutions announced the immediate availability of a Windows based CATIA V4 to JT translator. This new translator does not require access to either the CATIA V4 application or license and runs under a standard Windows environment in addition to the existing supported Unix platforms. This offers users a low cost and easy to use method to produce JT files from native CATIA V4 data.

This new translator is a full function CATIA V4 to JT translator, and processes native CATIA V4 data created in either "MODEL" or Export File format. In addition it will process assembly data created using the CATIA V4 Detail/Ditto, Session File techniques or alternatively data generated using the Catia Assembly Modeller application. It will process wireframe, surface and solid data including pipes & harness data together with attributes and color information. It is capable of being run either in a single-shot or in batch mode or alternatively it can be integrated into any PDM environment.

Theorem's product manager, Trevor Leeson, said "This really does open the door for CATIA V4 users to create JT output on a low cost windows platform it doesn't carry the cost of requiring a CATIA V4 license and it doesn't require a high value Unix workstation on which to run. In addition it can be integrated into any of the PDM systems, such as Teamcenter, Windchill or SAP. This product has been produced in response to customer requests to provide this application on a low cost platform without tying up a CATIA license, and nothing has been compromised to make it available. We are already experiencing high demand, and we expect it to be very widely used."

Theorem's CATIA V4 to JT translator can be installed as a single user application "locked" to a single machine, or it can be configured to run as a floating network license, providing distributed access to many users across a network.

Theorem's on-line translation service is at http://www.cadverter.com and information on all its products and services can be found at http://www.theorem-usa.com and http://www.theorem.co.uk
