SURFCAM® Receives SolidWorks® Certified CAM Product Status
Surfware, Inc., maker of SURFCAM CAD/CAM Systems, announced that SURFCAM has achieved SolidWorks Certified CAM Product status. The SolidWorks Certified CAM Partner Program is a shared endeavor between SolidWorks Corporation and industry-leading computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software providers. The program accelerates their customers' design-to- manufacture processes by promoting tight interoperability between SolidWorks 3D mechanical design software and industry-leading CAM software.
"We are delighted to welcome SURFCAM as the latest Certified CAM Product for SolidWorks," said Brian Houle, partner program manager for SolidWorks Corporation. "This program is a way for our customers to identify CAM products that work well with SolidWorks geometry. Manufacturing companies around the world will benefit from SURFCAM's associative solution that reads native SolidWorks geometry, thus minimizing the chance of errors being introduced in the design to manufacturing process."
Joe McChesney, Surfware product manager, stated, "To be competitive in manufacturing, engineers must maintain an accelerated pace while smoothly and accurately incorporating any design changes made upstream. SURFCAM, with its associativity to SolidWorks, provides the power to maintain that pace. When tool paths are affected by a design change in SolidWorks, SURFCAM automatically detects the change and identifies which tool paths must be regenerated. The process is clear and straight forward, making SURFCAM users more competitive in today's manufacturing industry."
