Eurostep Group and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Announce Partnership

Eurostep and DNV's division for Information Quality Management are working together to provide services and solutions in the areas of exchanging and sharing product life cycle data in the Defence and Oil & Gas industries.

Specifically, the parties are collaborating in defining and delivering joint projects by implementing global information standards like STEP, PLCS and POSC/CAESAR, their concepts and technologies. Both organizations have been heavily involved in key areas to bring the above mentioned standards into industrial use, and some focus areas for the partnership are Reference Data Libraries (RDL), PLCS Data Exchange Sets (DEXs) and Net Centric Warfare.

It is very interesting to see that a well known company like DNV has identified Information Quality Management as an area of business, says Hakan Karden, Managing Director of Eurostep Group. Over the life time of Eurostep we have fully supported the concept of product data as a true asset for an organization and its possibility to conduct business. The time has come to exploit standards like STEP, PLCS and POSC/CAESAR in commercial projects and I believe this partnership with DNV will be able to explore new, cost effective and ground breaking ways in managing information, ends Hakan Karden.

Eurostep is since long a leading actor in the field of information standards like STEP and PLCS and we are very pleased that we have established this formal partnership, says Petter Myrvang, Head of Information Quality Management, Det Norske Veritas. We have already started several activities where business needs in the defense industry are addressed by our two organizations. Together with Eurostep we are positioned to meet the market needs of delivering and implementing standards that will have a global impact and deliver real value to the users, right down to the bottom line, ends Petter Myrvang.
