Leading Global Automotive Service Provider Design Intent Engineering Extends Partnership With think3
think3, Inc. ( http://www.think3.com/ ) announced an agreement with Design Intent Engineering, Inc. (DIE), a technological leader in transportation design and engineering services. This new relationship will provide a completely integrated level of client service to the automotive industry.
Partnering think3's latest industrial design technology with Michigan-based DIE's methodologies brings to automotive clients a new depth of design expertise and higher level of customer service. The new client support relationship-developed during the past year and formalized this spring-already is producing results for clients, including significant gains (up to 70-80 percent) in productivity, five times the increase in design efficiency, and overall faster production cycles and lower costs.
"Our partnership builds on the strength of think3's leading integrated design and engineering product suite to provide a single, open-platform solution for automotive design," said Chad Kammeraad, think3 director of ID solutions. "Design Intent's outstanding reputation for delivering design and engineering services will complement think3's complete solution of software and services to our automotive customers."
As think3's service partner to the automotive industry, the DIE team offers domain expertise for clients' development needs. DIE also is the training partner for automotive clients, having developed training materials and class instruction to support clients as they implement think3's industrial design solution-thinkiD.
"DIE is a proven service provider in the auto industry, with domestic and foreign OEMs as well as the tier supplier community, providing complete product development. We emphasize in-studio support, product ideation, feasibility and surface development," said DIE President Matthew Pyzik. "With our talent and experience, we are well-suited to support the think3 initiative in the industry. We are excited to offer training and mentoring and to provide think3 design services to the automotive sector."
Automotive clients with whom think3 and DIE are working already have been impressed with the results of the partnership.
"In one specific example, we successfully utilized the think3 tool on a show vehicle. We morphed a current CAD model to a sketch provided us. The time savings allowed us to investigate multiple proposals in the timeframe given," Pyzik said. "The completed part already has appeared in several auto shows."
The alliance between think3 and DIE builds upon think3's introduction of its 9.0 product suite-thinkiD, thinkdesign and thinkteam. It allows manufacturers an end-to-end solution to manage their production processes from concept to delivery on a single technology platform, emphasizing interoperability, product data sharing and efficiency. think3 also provides out-of-the-box integration tools for rapid integration with business systems using legacy data.
