Informative Graphics Offers Net-It® CAD Open Beta For AutoCAD® 2005

Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC) announced that it is offering an open beta of its new Net-It CAD Plug-In for AutoCAD® with AutoCAD 2005 support. Net-It CAD for AutoCAD gives users a fast, simple, and content-secure alternative to Adobe PDF for publishing design files for viewing with IGC's free reader.

The free beta version of the Net-It CAD Plug-In for AutoCAD is available at http://www.net-it.com/nip_autocad.asp   The beta supports AutoCAD versions 2000 through 2005.

As an AutoCAD plug-in, Net-It CAD converts AutoCAD 2D design files to content sealed format (CSF) files, viewable by IGC products. Published CSF drawings are generally much smaller than Adobe PDF files, have higher resolution and support AutoCAD concepts including levels and line weight handling.

CSF features IGC's Visual RightsT technology, a document rights management framework that is integrated with the publishing process. Visual Rights includes persistent security controls that are manually selected and applied to the published drawing. Designers can expire viewing rights; enable password protection; and allow/disallow plotting, copying, and measurement. For more information about Visual Rights, visit http://www.infograph.com/digital-rights-security.htm

Net-It CAD leverages AutoCAD 2005's API to read and convert the geometry data with accurate fidelity and full resolution that exceeds what is possible using print-based publishing. Informative Graphics intends to additionally support 3D in a later release. Published designs can be viewed, printed to scale, and measured (snapping to actual geometry points) using the free Brava!® Reader. For more information about Brava Reader, see http://www.infograph.com/press/bravareader.htm

"Our open beta program provides a no-risk opportunity for users to sample our capabilities, and helps us deliver better products" said Gary Heath, CEO at IGC. "The fidelity, a smaller output size, performance and rights management should help establish CSF with AutoCAD 2005 users as an alternative to printing to PDF." he added.
