IronCAD Releases IronCAD V7
IronCAD ( http://www.ironcad.com ) announced the release of IronCAD V7, a 3D CAD solution noted for its ease-of-use and its creative design productivity. This latest release of IronCAD offers a set of tools so flexible they can be used standalone or as a component of a larger PLM solution, where new concept exploration and collaboration is the key to success.
IronCAD V7 is a major step forward with over 200 customer requested enhancements and quality improvements making this release one of the biggest in the company's history. Some of the key areas of improvement in this release can be found in the modeling, collaboration, 2D drawing, and general product performance areas.
Some of the key features users should expect are:
Modeling
A new assembly feature command that has the ability to convert into a feature of the individual standalone parts.
New variable radius blend commands that operate either on surfaces or solids.
An updated loft command that now includes multiple guide curves for improved shape control.
The addition of variable wall thickness shelling.
The ability to create conical sheet metal parts with unfold.
Additional surfacing options such as extend surface.
Several new 3D curve options (project curve to surface, intersection curve, curve from surface and formula based curve) for improved surface creation.
And many more.
Collaboration
Updates to latest versions of both the ACIS and Parasolid kernels.
Improved set of neutral file translators including IGES, STEP, Pro/E Granite and CATIA.
A free IronCAD part/assembly viewer.
A new web publishing capability that allows model files to be exported in a web viewable format.

A new application programming interface (API) that provides direct access to key program functionality to support IronCAD's active OEM program and for the creation of custom product add-ons.
And many more...
2D Drawing
Individual curve property control including line type, color, layer, and visibility.
2D to 3D associativity so changes made in the drawing view can be updated on the 3D geometry.
Out of sync view display that ensures the proper synchronization of both the drawing and the model.
Numerous additions and enhancements in the areas of view creation, dimensioning, BOM display, and editing tools.
The addition of 2D drag and drop catalogs for improved symbol management.
And many more.
Product Performance
General improvements throughout the product starting with save and load, rendering, view creation, import/export speeds.
Handle changes that speed up the modeling process and provide better visual feedback.
