Phoenix Integration Launches New Design Optimization Solutions
Phoenix Integration, Inc. announced the release of a new design optimization software package which will allow customers to increase efficiencies, streamline processes and enhance product performance by: minimizing research and development expenses; helping customers get products to market 30% faster; saving time on testing and processes; reducing the engineering design cycle by 4-5 times; lowering testing cost by 15%; and allowing engineers to test and evaluate many designs and alternatives.
"We've been working on a revolutionary way of analyzing complex engineering product designs and rapidly optimizing them," says Brett Malone, President and co-founder of Phoenix Integration. "This break-away-from-the-pack innovation will change the landscape of product development software for manufacturers, giving them the unprecedented ability to find the best design possible in a fraction of the time, regardless of product type."
Phoenix's new package is a private technology now available to the public. Boeing originally developed part of the technology, which increases efficiencies of available simulations and computing power for the global search of design alternatives. These methods reduce computational time and search millions of product configurations to find the best design.
"Partnering with Phoenix on this project will not only give us early access to cutting-edge integration technology, but it will also help us achieve our design goals," says Dr. Evin Cramer, Technical Fellow at Boeing.
The algorithms are already industry-proven, having been used by Boeing on aircraft, engine, helicopter and space vehicle designs. The software has also been used in manufacturing processes for welding and machining. Phoenix expects this new technology to reduce the cost of product development and manufacturing.
The first version which evolved as a direct response to market research that included a survey of approximately 1,000 customers-is currently available, with more advanced versions to be released throughout the year.
Phoenix Integration, Inc., located at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg, Va., is a 10-year-old company providing flexible and scaleable enterprise solutions for process integration and design optimization to global customers, including nine of the top 10 U.S. defense contractors and five of the top 10 aerospace companies.
