Geometric joins PTC Partner Advantage ProgramT as a Gold Software Partner for eDrawingsT for Pro/ENGINEER®
Geometric Software Solutions announced that it has become a Gold Tier Member of PTC's Partner Advantage Program. As a result of the partnership, Geometric will support eDrawings for Pro/ENGINEER on the latest versions of PTC's products. Simultaneously, PTC ( http://www.ptc.com ) will be a non-exclusive worldwide distributor for the eDrawings for Pro/ENGINEER product. The partnership is a significant step forward in Geometric's endeavor to make eDrawings technology available to the worldwide CAD community. Geometric is also developing similar eDrawings products for other CAD platforms.
eDrawings is the first email enabled communication tool which enables the sharing of 2D and 3D CAD data. Unlike CAD files, eDrawings files are compact and easy to email. Typically, an eDrawings file is more than 90% smaller than the original CAD file. Unlike other formats such as PDF and TIF, eDrawings is highly interactive, allowing recipients to work on their designs in 3D.
eDrawings for Pro/ENGINEER is available in two versions, the Professional version and the free version. Any recipient using the eDrawings viewer, can also view files published by the Professional version. The recipient can then use functionalities such as mark-up and measure in addition to advanced viewing capabilities such as dynamic component translation and dynamic cross sectioning. Files created using the free version of eDrawings for Pro/ENGINEER have limited functionality when viewed by the recipient. Regardless of version, the eDrawings viewer is free of cost. eDrawings Professional for Pro/ENGINEER also includes the Publisher add-in for AutoCAD®. After its initial launch in November 2003, Geometric announced support for Pro/ENGINEER WildfireT in January 2004. In May 2004, Geometric announced support for international languages and the availability of a floating license version.
