CSi Announces Concepts Unlimited Version 2
CSi announced the newest release of Concepts Unlimited, the second version of CSI's flagship product for conceptual computer aided design. Concepts Unlimited targets professional design communities who need fast, flexible, and intuitive tools for turning their ideas into precise CAD models.
The latest release of Concepts Unlimited incorporates a variety of new tools that continue to improve designer productivity and ease of use. Key enhancements include:
• 600 textures and 300 decals added to the photo rendering library
• New extreme modeling tools for twisting and stretching shapes
• Pro/E Reader for parts and assemblies
• Significantly reduced file sizes with advanced compression algorithms
• Automated creation of design books
• Over 145 user requested changes and enhancements
Brock Brandenberg of bergdesign inc has been involved with testing the latest release of Concepts Unlimited. "The new Twist and Stretch modeling tools are amazing. Unlike most other modeling programs, these tools work on curves, surfaces, and solids and result in precise geometry that I can continue to edit normally-no conversion or meshing required for later modeling operations. As an industrial designer, these are the type of tools that allow me to quickly conceptualize an idea without having to stop and think about the steps required to achieve some effect."
According to Tim Olson, President of CSI, the new Twist and Stretch tools are the first in a collection of tools targeting extreme modeling. Extreme modeling tools compliment traditional feature based modeling by allowing the designer to push, pull, bend, and twist shapes independent of feature or history constraints.
Concepts Unlimited is available through an international reseller distribution channel. Localized versions are available for Japanese, French, Dutch, and German.
